We have Adobe Reader DC 15.20.2039 If it is opened the very first time the large white splash screen which you can either click through or hit X to not see again opens in the middle of the screen. You know, the screen that starts with "Say Hello to easy file access, then add documents and so on"
Our users in this University do not want to see that splash screen. Yes I know once it's clicked through the first time, you don't see it again. However, several departments have profiles that refresh so once the computer is restarted, clicking on a PDF document is always like the first time.
I have used the Customization Wizard. I have added several items in registry. I can't get this initial thing to stop. I do not want it displayed ever. How can I stop it from showing upon launch?
We want this to be automated for all of our deployments.
Thank you,

I don't have an answer for you because I have been searching for the same thing! It is VERY annoying to have this pop up upon opening EVERY new document! I have spent a lot of time searching for an answer and there is no direct support for contacting Adobe - all I could find is forums! It appears to be no way out as it wants to force you to sign up to it. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I hope someone reads this and has an answer.

Hi athenaSPI2469,
There is no option provided to remove this feature in application.
Please refer this thread with similar issue : Acrobat Reader DC version 2015.006.30096 How to disable Welcome splash screen on first use? Check if it works for you.

Actually this question is NOT ANSWERED! It shouldn't be marked assumed.
If you actually read the original post as suggested that is for version 2015.006.30096
The wording in there says to add this fix "before upgrading them". I will quote: "I think the fix will be to use group policy to add the registry key to all workstations before upgrading them"
This was in 2015. It's 2017 now! We don't go back to the original software, add the fix and then upgrade them. That's horse crap!
We need an answer that works with the latest release, not uninstall all current existing versions and install a version from 2015, make a change to the registry and then upgrade to the latest reader version.
You can make this "fix" for a user that has never logged into Adobe Reader but if they have any version above that original 2015.006 when you make the registry fix, it won't take for the newer version.
If Adobe Staff is going to answer this, maybe they should answer how they plan to incorporate an ability to not have this splash screen in their setup customization wizard. They shouldn't be answering to apply a version from 2 years ago or a solution that only works with that version.
I want a solution that works immediately with the latest versions of Adobe Reader. 2015.023.20056 is several versions above 006.30096.

I slso had this issues and found a way around it. We do not need or want users going to the cloud or third party services, so I disabled these services by adding thsee registry entries and I longer get the message.

For the base release, it also did not disable Send and Track; however, it does control Send and Track with the July, 2015 release. To disable all services, use bUpdater . Possible values include:
