Hi!I have some problem with program Adobe Reader when I try to install it.

Give error "New version already installed".Why??

I install program Adobe Reader on fresh Windows *(7 x64Ultimate) installed.

I have this problem for some time ago but no one has ever solved it since then.

I google it and I found some fix but why anyone from Abobe does not solve this?

Because now for me doesn't work any version...

No online version from site and neither the ftp.

When will be fixed this to online version, what is there:

Instalare Adobe Acrobat Reader DC pentru toate versiunile

    LeoAdobeX

    EDIT:

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

This is that folders what I found it, if I delete it will work installer to download all files.

Just version "AcroRdrDC1801120063_en_US" work for me, can be installed without problems.

Maybe because is offline installer? That version online from site what downloading files can't be installed.

I do not understand what the file sizes mean to you. If you manage to install an old version it will immediately update.

I don't say this is a good thing, but it is clearly Adobe's intention.

No, Adobe really really want everyone to be up to date.

Hmm, but can be something what can crash another program from Windows or even files from Windows...For that I want to not do updates automatically, can be something wrong.

You should test updates before to send users...can be something dangerous or malicious.

This is a very annoying error and it seems to be happening more and more. Worse, I have seen no other suggestions.

Well, I don't want to run it because I have a copy of Reader and I'm happy with that. But you need to choose Reader. Don't choose extra directories. Don't delete anything at random or because you see Adobe in the name.

I tryed both and didn't work, when I try to install Reader say the same message "A newer version was installed...- if I don't write wrong".

The solution should be here - newer version exists, error 1722, existing posts are not helping

Starting with October 2018 release all Reader versions require specific set of system files (so called runtime). Most Windows Systems already have those files from Windows Update. Some systems for one reason or another do not have those required system files. In such cases Reader installer fails with error 1722, but MSI returns different error and Adobe Download Manager displays "Newer version already installed" incorrectly.

There is no reason to use Adobe Cleanup tool.

    The only 2 choices are-

Install required system files (there have been many posts here about this) and than install newest Reader.

    or

Install older Reader version (before October 2018), which can be downloaded from FTP - see link in

newer version exists, error 1722, existing posts are not helping

The second option is not ideal because older Reader will not be updated to the latest, presumably more secure version.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:

    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then, you can download the version you want from

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

Can't be done to install it without tool to clean or something else, to install it normal like the other programs?

What is happened here, why install does't install normally?

I see when I try to install the program and doesn't work with that message will be deleted installer what I download.

Mostly fellow users around here, you'd have to  ask Adobe about the "why"s. I have offered you a method that has worked for many people with similar problems, and you are of course free to chose not to follow my suggestion.

I try to clean with tool "AbodeAcroCleaner_DC2015", I select both options there and "Adobe" and "Reader", I don't know differences between them, I restart computer after I cleaned and I install "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" downloaded before restarting.

For me doesn't work with tool cleaner, are not removed all files from Adobe Reader?

Before I found something in CommonFiles I think, I'm not sure where I found...some versions was there but now I can't find anything.

The same, I read on this forums and after I deleted the folders I could install program.

Now I can't found folders with downloaded files and tool cleaner don't help me so much...

Same here. I can't install it either.  The installer gives me a message that its already installed but I searched and find no such files.
