Inability to Install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on my Windows PC

I own a HP Z2 Small Form Factor G5 Workstation (9FW01AV) which is installed with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit Version: 26100.6584. I purchase Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro when it was first launched and have used it until recently when it became unable to complete certain basic tasks. I uninstalled the software conventionally, via Windows Settings, with the objective of installing Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, obtained directly from the Microsoft Store. For whatever reason, I have been unable to install the specific reader application. Typically, what happens, is a larger file is installed, which appears to contain a trail version of a major Adobe application. Despite attempting to uninstall the complete Adobe package and reinstall just the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, my efforts have thus far been decidedly uncussessful. Does anyone have a definitive method of accomplishing my objective. All advice and suggestions would be gratefully received.

Any time I am having weird problems with Acrobat that cannot be resolved by uninstalling, I use the Acrobat Cleaner application: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

This will remove anything that a normal uninstall might leave on your system.

Hi

Karl,

Thanks for the suggestion. Despite downloading (and executing) the Acrobat Cleaner and loading what I assumed to be Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, I fear that such is still not the case. The following is a screenshot of what appears to be some form of time limited trial, which is clearly not what I want. Is this version likely to stop funtioning at some point, even with the task of allowing PDF's to be read on my PC

I assume you are referring to the "free trial" box in the lower left corner. This allows you to get a free trial of the full Adobe Acrobat application. If you ignore this box, nothing bad will happen, you will be able to view PDF files. Adobe is just trying to use the free Reader as advertising to get more Acrobat subscriptions.
