Hi there
Hope you are doing well.
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.
What is the version of the OS and the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20687 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Amal,
thank you for answering and for your help.
It is with all pdfs, not only a particular file. Most time there are only 2 lock icons, but sometimes there come more and more icons.
The version is: 2024.002.20736 . Today Reader did an automatic update while it starts.
Last week I tried to deinstall and install it more times with different older versions. At the beginning after a new installation there are no icons but later - i think when the reader did an udpate - they appear.
I also tried to reset the Acrobat preferences without success, but while doing this I found the option in the registry that makes the icons. It's the key cProtextIconExp -> iVariant
I disable it but Acrobat overwrite my decition every time. How can I lock this setting?
Why Acrobat put this unused icon 100 times in the icon bar and there is no chance to deactivate it in the settings? I will never use this function in the reader and I hope there is a possibility to erase it.
Hope you have an idea 🙂
Thank you much.
Best regards
wedeen

Hi there
Please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
