Lost pdf updated file

I saved a pdf with a new name today after adding hours of work to it but now can't find it- I saved it to adobe cloud but it doesnt even show that I accessed the doc today; it is like my whole day wasn't stored/recognized- is there a back way in?

Sorry to hear that.

As mentioned above, that you have saved the file to the Adobe Cloud or Document Cloud so did you check it on online storage or the folder of the desktop application Adobe Reader DC?

Also, go through the help document Where are my Adobe Document Cloud files? this may help you finding your files.
