MS Server 2016

New Here ,
Aug 23, 2025 Aug 23, 2025

Andreas

Hello @andreas_7686

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

The error you're seeing is likely related to a missing or unsupported system call such as SetThreadDescription, which Acrobat attempts to use during startup. Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed on the machine: 25.001.20630, Planned update, Aug 18, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app, and try again.

Ensure your server is fully updated to the latest build of Windows Server 2016. The SetThreadDescription function is only supported in newer builds.

If the issue still continues with the latest build, please share the exact version of the Server, the Windows Event Viewer logs, and the Adobe logs from the affected machine. To collect the logs, download and run the Log Collector tool. Make sure to select all log options and attempt to reproduce the issue. After that, close the Log Collector tool; it will generate the logs along with a log ID. Please share this log ID with us for further investigation.

Thanks,
