Need help with annotations in Acrobat Reaader DC since my MAC rebooted itself

On my Mac, using Acrobat Reader DC, I annotate text: delete, insert, replace or copy and paste, just by opening Tools. Since last week it will not work unless I click on the icon for each task. That is doubling my workload, but of course I can't charge clients for the extra time! Please help before I go crazy!

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat Reader forum so that proper help can be offered.

Hi Antonia,

Thanks for reporting this to us.

It seems that you have started experiencing this issue after installing the latest patch.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download it to your computer first and then try again.

What is the version of the OS and the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20091 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

For Mac: Please collect the logs using the log collector tool as described in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html

For Windows: Please download the procmon tool here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon run the procmon tool and regenerate the issue and collect the logs.

You can share the collected logs using the Document Cloud service as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html

For better understanding, share the affected/sample PDF file and a small video recording of the issue so that we can check it at our end.

Thanks,

Akanchha
