Is there any way to open the same pdf document i two separate windows using Adobe reader in windows? If I try to open a document a second time it just returns to the first window. I want to have the same document open in several windows to jump to different parts with alt-tab.
Open the document in Adobe Reader. Execute the menu Window > New Window.

As an addition to this I add you can drag end drop pane to the original window (so you have the same document in panes not in windows)

Thank you for sharing, I just made an account to thank you. While having a different window is good, having the pdf on the same window is better. It never once crossed my mind to try this until your comment.

Make a copy of the document. Call it "mydoc-B.pdf" Then open it.
I know how annoying it gets when software tries to be creative for you. If I double click on the same document twice, open another heavy weight process and display the document again.
