Opening Error in Reader

Hi there,

I keep getting the below error when trying to open PDF's,  BUT only PDF's connected with SARS it seems, our local Tax authority.  All other PDF's I can open with no problem.

I have tried different browsers, I have deleted and reinstalled reader...several times.  I have even tried to open the document in Photoshop, but it opened up as per below. When our accountant sends a SARS related file, she is able to view and open it, I can't however.

I believe SARS have said it's because they are using the latest version of Acrobat, but surely reader is updated to keep up with Acrobat?

Can you open the file when you use Acrobat Reader on MS Windows or Mac?

Hi,

I'm actually downloading acrobat right now to see if that works.  I deleted acrobat though, it kept crashing.

I'll let you know what happens.

OK, the document DOES open in Acrobat Reader DC.  Just hope I can now figure out why it crashes on my computer

Also, would they not update Reader Touch to be compatible?

Reader Touch is finished and will never be updated. Odd that it didn’t handle these files, but it’s the same story on phones and tablets.
