Opening PDF - A Drawing Error Occured

Hi Team,

I am currently experiencing an issue with opening a particular file in Adobe Reader Pro / DC. Product Version 2023.001.20143

Opening this pdf in any other PDF viewer, Edge, Chrome, Foxit etc doesn't have this issue.

Error: A drawing error has occurred

Some parts of the drawing are missing and not viewable.

What is causing this?

Hi @4sightc51007334, we are sorry to hear about this issue.

Can you please check the memory consumption in your system from either Task manager/Activity monitor. Also, please try with restarting the system and launching the app again.

Let us know if issue still persists.

Hi Bhawna,

We have tried this on serveral devices with varying different specifications, I believe the problem lies with the Adobe application itself.

Every other application is able to view the PDF without issue, even the preview from this website is working correctly

Cheers

Hi @4sightc51007334

Is this issue happening for any other files as well apart from the one you shared? Also, Is this the first time you encountered such issue for you?

Nevertheless,we are tracking this issue via ticket. Engineering teams are looking into this issue and will provide you an update as soon as it is fixed.

Best,

Bhawna

Hi Bhawna,

Thanks for the update - it seems to be just this one file. This is the first time this issue has occurred for the company

Is there an ETA regarding a potiential fix,?

I have moved the post to a more appropriate Acrobat Reader forum for better help.

As far as I know readers other than Acrobat do not implement the PDF specification completely most of the times and hence are generally easy on errors that might be present. However, Acrobat does complain about issues and it is the only application to rely on for the sanctity of the PDF.

I will leave the details for the experts and correct me if I got this wrong.
