Thank you for taking the time to read this and help.
I work on a Mac. I use DocuSign to create documents requiring signatures. I use Adobe Reader to validate the signatures. If I password protect the DocuSign document in Apple's Preview and then open the document in Adobe Reader I am not able to validate the signatures or if I have already validated the signatures and then password protect the document using Preview, the validation disappears when I open the pdf with Adobe Reader.
I am currently using the free version of Adobe Reader and I do understand that the paid version will allow me to password protect the document in Adobe. However, I am wondering if there is another way to have Adobe view and validate a document that is already password protected?
Thank you for your help.
Josh
Reader can't password-protect a file. You would need Acrobat for that.

Apple Preview is a buggy application and it corrupts PDF files, simply by opening them. Use it at your own risk.

Is there another solution that would allow me to password protect a pdf and then use Adobe Reader to validate the signature and save it as a password protected pdf?
Or, if I validate the signature with Adobe Reader, is there a way to password protect the document with another program so that if you were to open it after that with Adobe Reader you would still see the validation?
