Hi,

I was trying to print a PDF File 1.39MB 91 pages but Spools to huge size when trying to print which takes time to print.

I have done the following:

1. Print Optimizations settings to "Disabled"?
1. Start > Settings > Printers.
2. Choose the Properties from the printer you are using.
3. Select the Printing Preferences button.
4. Select the Advanced tab.
5. Under Document Options, choose Disabled next to Print Optimizations, and then click OK.
6. Select OK to close the printer properties.

2. Bypass EMF spooling. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open the properties dialog box for the printer.
  2. Click the Advanced
  3. Click the Print directly to the printer

Note This will disable all print processor-based features such as the following features:

  • N-up
  • Watermark
  • Booklet printing
  • Driver collation
  • Scale-to-fit

Once EMF spooling is turned off, you can use the Application to perform any N-up printing needed

But still the same issue. This issue is PDF file only other files like word, excel files are all good we are using HP Color LaserJet Flow E87650. Do we have any workaround on this?

Thank you,

El

This is not unusual. PDF files compress very much, and there could be a huge amount of info in 1.4MB of PDF. This may need to be printed as pictures, which will be huge on each page. Very different from printing from Word etc. One more thing to check: make sure the PRINT AS IMAGE option is off, as it can make a bad thing worse.

What is huge? You can have a 100 kB PDF with just one page that causes a 2 GB spool file with ease, especially when you have vector graphics like diagonal hatching in it which the driver will raster into a giant pixel image of a specific dimension, resolution and color depth. There's truly no general connection between the size of the PDF and the spool file when printing it.

400M. That's not exceptional at all. I am not clear from your reply whether you are making sure Print as Image is OFF. It is well known that it will make most print jobs even bigger and slower. If it is off, and printer quality settings have been tried, that is going to be your print speed, I think.
