I just got a new PC for work. I installed the latest Acrobat Reader DC version. Strangely, the icon of pdf files, whether they're stored on my machine, network drive, or in an email attachment, appear as the old Acrobat Reader icon, i.e. red graphic on white background, whereas Acrobat DC has black background icon.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing DC but it changed nothing.
Did anyone else experienced this, and how was it solved? In no way this affects how DC performs but it is just odd...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I might have clicked on a suspicious website by accident today, so I just want to check.
After searching these forums and finding this thread, there is no image of the icon to verify, so I posted a screenshot of the icon below.
This thread is from April 2018, but the change happened for my icons today on October 2, 2018.
Is this the legitimate Adobe Acrobat icon? If so, is there an official post or announcement from Adobe for this to confirm?
With concerns about malware, I want to confirm since it was a sudden change to my icons in List view (with a folder open in Windows 10).
The file icon change was not mentioned in the Release Notes from October 02, 2018

I only noticed this change today 10/16. Really not a fan of this bright white new Icon! I'm not against change but the red was subtle and classic.

I also just noticed the change today... the following link at Adobe at least shows the correct icon I see today. But no hint of a date of the change...
