PDF preview opens but shows a Blank ( black ) screen

Hello all

 

recently the pdf preview has stopped working for me in my Outlook 365.

 

I have the latgest adobe DC installed with all updates, latest office365.

 

using the repair function in adobe resets everything and it works ok for a while but then randomly the preview goes blank again.

 

any ideas?

Thanks for reporting this to us.

Have you started experiencing this issue after installing the latest patch or this has been there from long?

  • Please confirm the dot version of Acrobat. Open Acrobat>help>About Adobe Acrobat
  • Also, the OS version

Meanwhile, try this-

1- Make sure you have got Acrobat up-to-date. Open Acrobat or Acrobat Reader DC (your default pdf viewer)>help>check for update

2- Open Outlook.

Go to "File">" Options">" Test Center">" Trust Center Settings">" Attachment Handling".

Ensure that the "Turn off Attachment Preview" option is unchecked.

Tap the "Attachment and Document Previewers" button and then check if the option that says "PDF Preview Handler" is ticked or enabled.

Hi team

 

it says Version 2022.001.20085 64 bit

 

OS is Microsoft Version 10 enterprise version 10.0.19043 Build 19043

 

Adobe Acrobat DC is up to date. Will try the suggestion next time it happens

This seems similar to the issue mentioned at the thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pdf-previewer-not-working-in-outlook/td-p/1238292...

Could you please follow the workaround suggested at the above link and see if it helps.

Workaround did not work, issue still reoccurs, it can take anything from 2 days to nearly 5 for the issue to happen again, user uses the function everyday but the bug is random
