Preferences Not Working

I have Reader set to open PDF's showing one page, zoomed to fit.  But that Preference doesn't always work.  I often get PDF's opened with other views and I have to manually set the view I want.

What gives?

May be that the PDF files have other view settings.

The preferences that you set will work when the creator of the PDF leaves the settings at Default. If they choose other settings, the PDF will use those instead.
