Prevent automatic update from Adobe Reader 32bit to 64bit

New Here ,
Feb 06, 2023 Feb 06, 2023

When you install Adobe Reader 32 bit on a 64 bit operating system computer, it is always automatically updated to Reader 64 bit. Is there any way to stop it from updating to 64 bit. Regrisiter and msconfig settings unfortunately without success.

Hi @Agi281177529c0j

Thanks for reaching out.

To stop the Acrobat Reader 32-bit application from automatically upgrading to the 64-bit version, create the following registry key before the first launch of the application: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/about-acrobat-reader-dc-migration-to-64-bit.html

Let us know if this helps.

Thank you for the message. I'm sorry, this is where the development team needs to take care and release a new update or tool accordingly. Change regristy is not useful if it affects multiple users. If 64bit Adobe Reader supports 32bit Outlook, then there is no problem. But unfortunately it works only with 32Bit Adobe Reader. It would be really great if always stays on 32Bit version as it was installed at the beginning. Otherwise you don't need to support 32Bit version at all.
