Problem Saving Document

New Here ,
Jun 06, 2017 Jun 06, 2017

I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I am having problems saving documents as pdf files. I get a message "The document could not be saved. The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid." I also occasionally get a message "There was an error reading a stream," and the screen goes blank. The documents I am trying to save were scanned onto a flash drive using my HP printer, but I also had the problem with an attachment in an email. I have never had this problem before. I have rebooted both my desktop and the printer, and tried different flash drives, with the same result. Any ideas?

Hi Rlincoln0761,

I assume you are working on the operating system earlier than Windows 10?

This problem mainly occurs when the preview window open in the folder. You may refer to the solution given in the forum thread document could not be saved error  where similar issue has been addressed and resolved for an older version of the Acrobat.

Let us know if that doesn't work for you.

Regards,

Akanchha
