Reader 9 PDF printing problems

New Here ,
Aug 08, 2008 Aug 08, 2008
I have a Kyocera FS-C5015N. When I print any multi-page PDFs to the FS-C5015N, only the first page comes out or nothing at all. I have tracked the problem down to Adobe Reader 9. I say this because I can successfully print multi-page PDFs using version 8.2. But I cannot with v9. I have downloaded the latest drivers from Kyocera's website. Same problem. I can successfully print with Word, Excel, etc. just not Adobe Reader v9. Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this issue? Thanks.

I have a problem printing PDF's using adobe reader 9 with HP 1000 and service pack 3 I can fix by turning off spooler then deleteing .sho .spl and reseting spooler services to start.

With adobe 8.? the spooler problem completely jammed up access to all printers. Seems the spooler was locked up. With v 9.0 things were a little better (could access other printers etc.)

I am having this problem with both Acrobat Reader 9 and Acrobat Standard 9. We are using a Sharp MX3501n. We have tried all of the solutions here but the problem still keeps creeping up. We have had to install Reader 8 for all of our users. It seems to me that this is an Adobe problem not a driver or printer issue.

SOLUTION WORKED -- Thanks Eric Beach! We had two Canon copier/printers and a Dell(Lexmark)5200 with this problem after upgrading to Acrobat 9.0 Standard. Our Kyocera FS-3800 was the only one without the issue. When in Adobe, go to the Print Dialogue box, at the bottom corner click "Advanced", change the Font and Resource Policy drop down box to "Send for Each Page" and click OK, OK. This change needs to be done to each workstation, but so far it has tested perfectly. Thanks again to Eric!

Hi, I had this function in my windows explorer where I could right-click on a document (word, publisher etc) and choose the option convert to pdf. whoever installed my computer when i bought it must have added this feature. recently i was trying to free up some space and deleted my older versions of adobe reader (6.0 and 8.1 i think) and then i just downloaded adobe reader 9. i can open pdfs fine but now the function to convert them using windows explorer doesn't work anymore.
Any ideas?
thanks,

You probably deleted Acrobat (not Reader) which is what you would use to get this ability.

Regarding the problem of Adobe Reader 9 only printing the first page, I had success following the advice of Eric Beach (msge.#48, copied below)
-----------------------------------------
Eric Beach - 7:30am Dec 3, 08 PST (#48 of 53)
We had the same issues with 9.0 in my office printing to a Kyocera KM3225E and we were able to fix it by changing the Advanced print feature "Font and Resource Policy" to "Send for Each Page" We have printed test documents from multiple computers with success

Thanks

Same thing happened to me with a Dell P1500 (rebranded Lexmark). I tried printing out a multi-page PDF and out comes only the 1st page. I donn't have time to fiddle, so I'm going to try an older version. I wish for more KISS principle.

This problem is wide spread.
We have MINOLTA and TOSHIBA E3500 Copiers and the techs have informed me that there is an issue with version 9.

Toshiba Work around for TOSHIBA e-STUDIO3510cSeries PS3

Open the PDF document
Select Print
Make sure that Font and Resource Policy is set to "Send at Start"
Uncheck Convert True Type to Type 1
Select ok

Adobe a little help here.

Hi,
I am having trouble of printing my documents to Distiler 7.0. It worked quite good till I have installed the Photoshop. It ruined everything. I am able to open Adobe PS documents, though.
Anyone can tell me what is going on? What can I do to solve it? Just a parenthesis: I am not a computer specialist, so...
Thanks

All:

-Printer problem:
-Vista64 - HP Photoshop C4250 - Reader 9.0

Problem:
Select print and reader pops up with message
"Before you can perform print related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."

-Print setup already contains the default HP C4250 printer.
-5 other software products find the printer successfully.
-Reloaded drivers to ensure latest version.

Thanx in advance for any help.

I am using an HP 2800 with Windows XP and Adobe Reader 9. My desktop acts as the network server for two desktops, my partner shares the printer and internet access through me. I cannot print any PDF files, I only get this
ERROR: typecheck
OFFENDING COMMAND: image

STACK:

1.0
-mark-
-savelevel-
-mark-
-savelevel-

My partner has not upgraded Reader and is still on 7.0. I go over to his computer, open the PDF file and Voila it prints just fine.

This sure seems to be an ongoing problem with version 9.0 and I'm pretty sick and tired of jumping through hoops to print something in what has supposedly become an industry standard file format.

Glitches like this aren't going to impress me to purchase Adobe when I have other options. Any more ideas?

I'm using reader 9 and having printing problems, whenever I print a pdf the type face has a dot pattern, its not printing at 100%, looks like a screen of about 80%. My printer is a Canon Image Class mf4150.

I would like to install an older version of Reader as a last resort, anyone have an idea how to do this.

Using Adobe 9.0.0 with an HP Officejet 6310 all-in-one printer to print online statements from a web site results in garbage characters printing where the variable data should be printed. Standard text prints correctly. Only the data that would be different by user.

I can't print from Reader 9.1.0. to a Dell 946 all-in-one printer (latest driver installed).  No pages print.  My OS is MS XP SP3.  All other applications on my laptop (including MS Office and Foxit Reader) print to the Dell 946 without problems.

I've discovered two "workarounds" for the Reader 9.1.0 printing problem:

1. I can print to the Dell 946 in draft mode.  To accomplish this: "file>print>properties>draft."  Of course, the result is a draft quality document.

2. I can print to "Microsoft Document Image Writer," open my file in that application, and then print to the Dell 946 at my desired level of quality.  Not a very direct route, but it works.

Frankly, I'm disappointed in Adobe.

FWIW, selecting raster mode: "file>print>advanced>print as image" does not solve the problem for the Dell 946.

Update: I'm now using Adobe Reader 9.2.0.

I'm still using a Windows XP SP3, printing from a Dell laptop to a Dell 946 printer.  No change: I still can't print from Adobe in normal or quality mode.  Printing in draft works, but sometimes draft quality doesn't meet my needs.

I'm sure Adobe could fix this.  I guess it's not a priority.

LATEST

I blame Microsoft and Adobe both. It seems XP3 is a common demoninator. Wouldn't it just be too amazing if ,say, 2 or 3 techs from either company actually worked on a fix? Told us the status of the problem? Apologized for the delay in fixing it?

Did you try completely deleting Adobe and then reinstalling? Don't forget to reboot before reinstall. Reboot after reinstall. Don't do ANYTHING else but reboot each time. Uncheck "launch the program" tickboxes if they are available. Use an administator account only (if you have login screens). BUT BETWEEN the delete and reinstall SEARCH VEHEMENTLY for ANY Adobe PROGRAM files (I don't mean the pdf files) that may be LEFT by the uninstall. Also have a notebook to WRITE DOWN any files the uninstaller refers to at the end of the uninstall that it couldn't delete. I don't know enough about the registry to tell you what to look for/delete there, by the way.

Let us know if you crack this nut. I just remembered also that XP SP3 is NOT too good to put ON TOP OF SP2, you will find XP more stable if SP 3 is done at install - in other words I have treated it like a new OS and with very few exception have found it to be very stable.

Hope this helps. Just gotta love computers!!!

I must echo the above post (well written attachment by the way). BUT LOOK!

I JUST DOWNLOADED 9.2 and it FIXED the Adobe-won't-print thing on my PC. XP3 w/ Lexmark 4-in1 trying to print actually works now!!! Ever since I upgraded to 9 it hasn't.

As always, resart your machine after ANY software updates for best results, even if it doesn't say to.
