replacing a page

I have 301 page document. When I replace a page in that document with a page from another Adobe Reader document, another page within the 301 document is changed. For example I recently replaced page number 23 in the original document with a new page, and after the change, page 14 of the the original document was missing part of its text. I'm not sure what's going on, can anyone help. Thanks in advance

You're in the forum for the free Adobe Reader so you must be using a different product like Acrobat?
