So we can't even rotate a PDF anymore without a paid subscription? Absoloutely rediculious. This has been a core basic function of Reader for years, why was it removed? Is there a way to rotate it another way?

Reader was never able to rotate PDF pages. It can only rotate the view of those pages, which is not a permanent change and can't be saved. You can still do it with the current version of Reader. Nothing has changed in this regard.

@Song Lan wrote: right click and then click the rotate

Right-click > Rotate changes the View, not the orientation. It will flip back when you re-open.

If anyone from Adobe is reading this...this "paywall" almost made me uninstall Reader and start looking for other options (I pay for Pro, but you limit me to two computers, so I have to have reader on conference room computers, etc.).  It's ridiculous that Edge browser is easier to use than the maker's own software.

For everyone else, this is what my screen looked like and which button NOT to click and where the free rotation is in the menu.

It did cause me to uninstall it for the older versions.  Now it seems that it was trickery by Adobe to add that rotate page icon on the front to make you think you had to pay just to rotate your pages.  😠

To clarify all the conflicting answers. You can rotate through the main menu, but it's just to view; saving it will not retain the rotation. If you use the rotation in "Tools," it requires a subscription.

The easy solution here is to rotate the view of the document, as others have described, and then 'print' it to a new PDF using CutePDF or Microsoft Print to PDF. The new PDF will be in the orientation you were viewing it in.

**The free rotate view option is the button in the right hand corner of the application.**

The confusion for everyone is coming from the newer graphical layout of Acrobat. The rotate icon that is in the right hand menu bar when you are in the "Edit" section is indeed for paid-versions only. However there is a rotate icon in the bottom right hand corner of the application that is still free to use for changing the view orientation of the PDF.

Note that rotating the View is for all pages and only lasts while the file remains open. Rotating the Page is for selected pages and remains until rotated again.
