Everytime i scroll, click on anything on the pdf or try to edit, it looks corrupted and it only goes back to its norml for mafter clicking on the page a couple more times. It isnt a file specific problem as it has happened many times with other files aswell. Not a version based problem either as i have reinstalled and repaired multiple times. Thanks for your help.

I am having the same issue.  Knowledge Bar at Micro Center installed updated drivers and still not resolved.  Running Windows 10 and installed Adobe Reader today.  All up to date.  Here is another piece of the puzzle.  I have an ACER external monitor for my laptop connected through HDMI.  When either the HDMI is plugged in or I am not using any external moninor, the Adobe glich happens.  I purchased a smaller portable AOC monitor today that connects through a USB port. When that monitor is plugged in, no Adobe glitches.

Is there a solution for this.  I am getting the same display when I open a PDF doucument with Adobe Reader DC.  Also when trying to enable or disable a grid under the View - Show/Hide - Rulers & Grids path the only option that shows is the Lines Weights option.  No options for rulers or grids appear.  If there is a solution for this problem, I am having a hard time finding it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I should have provided the computer information in my previous submital.

FLEX-14API Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 81SS

Windows 10 64

I have Adobe Reader DC (current version) on my ASUS desktop and an old Tosheba Laptop and have no problems loading PDF documents.

Is there any compatable issues with the Lenovo laptop that would cause this problem?

Hi,

In regards of the display issue, I would say to try first increasing or decreasing resolution settings using the display driver application preferences.

And here is a thread with a solution that Amal, Adobe Employee, posted a few weeks ago.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/adobe-reader-dc/m-p/11032459#M64814

For the second issue I would say resetting the user preferences :

  • or click on Help, and then "Repair Installation".

I tried the compatability trouble shooter earlier without any success.  It seems when I loaded a multi page PD document, the first page displayed had the grid overlay.  When I scrolled to another page the grid disappeared.  When I did a left or right mouse click, the grid reappeared.  I could scroll up and down the document OK.  Just as soon as I did a mouse click the the grid reappeared.

After you recomended me try the suggested link again, I ran the compatability troubleshooter again.  I realized the troubleshooter was using Windows 8 compatability mode.  Looking to the end of the web page, I found the solution was to run Adobe Reader DC in Windows 7 compatability mode.  This solved my problem.

Will there be an update to Adobe Reader DC to resolve this issue?

Thanks very much for helping me with this issue.

It seems to be a problem specific to certain conditions.

Some people experience the issue, everyone else never get this problem.

The same happens with trying to install specific font packs.

Some people get an error message but the majority of users don't.

In my personal opinion, it seems like it has a lot to do with the operating system and how it is configured.

So it looks like, when a certain  condition of hardware+Operating system+ drivers+ user habits is mixed in a certain way, it triggers a bug.

This is a kinda bizarre and specific issue. I have the exact same PC as you and have never experienced this pdf (while using adobe) issue with any other computer I've come into contact with. I've looked up this issue a ton of times and never found any answers whatsoever. Also, I never hear about anyone else having a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 14API lol, it seems really rare ahha. It's REALLY hard for me to find info on the net about it, which makes this just...weird to me. Why's this happen? I'll try your fix, thanks.

Has anyone found a different resolution to this? I literally can't use Adobe's Acrobat products at all due to this. I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre with a Ryzen 5 Pro and literally nothing special going on. No add-ons. It's not a custom build. All my drivers are from Microsoft and Lenovo (via Lenovo Vantage). I've uninstalled. 32-bit. 64-bit. I just can't run this program without the huge black/gray grid. This doe snot happen on my 2016 ThinkCentre that is an Intel i7 machine.

Can you confirm if you have installed the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition driver package downloaded from AMD.com ?

Or are you using solely the OEM-provided drivers by the Lenovo manufacturer?

In any case, I wouldn't let Micrososft Windows handle the automatic updating of hardware drivers.

Seems to me like the issue is more common in Lenovo computers that have AMD processors.

Can someone confirm if this issue is also present in Lenovo computers that have Intel processors?

See if forcing a manual rollback of the chipset drivers improves the issue:

Hello,

I have this issue too! Adobe is basically unusable for me. Everytime I try to scroll the screen freezes or glitches or nothing happens and then it scrolls down 4 pages and won't stop. I have a MacOS with operating system Big Sur. My adobe is up to date. What do I do?

Please check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader DC from Help>Check for updates, reboot the machine after the installation of any updates. You can also repair the installation files of Adobe Reader from Help>Repair installation. Reboot the machine and see if this brings any difference.

I too am having a similar issue. The Reader glitches and I lose control over max/min the window and dragging the window from one screen to another until I click back and forth between the Reader's tabs several times. Notice upper and lower RH corners. This is very annoying and time consuming, especially when you are trying to present and the window navigation tools disappear.

I am using Win10 Enterprise 64bit on a Lenovo Thinkstation P920 with an Intel Xeon 3.2GHz CPU, nVidia Quadro P5000 GPU and 128GB ram. I am using the Reader Continuous Release ver 2022.003.20322 64 bit.
