Using Adobe Reader DC, sometimes (not always) when I press TAB, it inserts a comment instead of moving to the next field. It is extremely annoying. Does anyone know how to disable this?
Disabling the 'new' Acrobat also seems to solve it. Menu->View->Disable New Acrobat. Others reported that they can switch back to 'new' after turning it off without the unwanted behavior returning but I haven't verified that.

Never heard of that happening. Are you sure only only pressing Tab and not anything else?

Would love it if anyone could help on this.... it is so time wasting and annoying. pushing tab has worked fine for two years now ,all of a sudden is barely usable anymore. when filling out forms i always tab to go to the next box, now everytime i do that it puts my words into a comment so i have had to do everything by hand and it is taking far to long. Please help!

Hello! I had been having the same issue, but I did a quick change from Select tool to Pan tool, then back to Select tool. That seems to have solved it for now. Will report back if there is another solution.

Bumping this as well. I had an update and this started happening after years with no issue. I just disabled the new acrobat as suggested below and it works, but of course now I have to adjust to using the old acrobat even though I've been using the new one for about a year now.

Also, the changing from pan back to select tool as suggested above did not work for me.

Disabling new Acrobat seems to have worked for me -- switching back to New Acrobat brings the problem back, and changing from Select Tool to Pan doesn't fix it either.

....but of course that means, back to the old Acrobat which is not satisfactory really

I Dont know why Adobe wants to mess up with their softwares when they update. It is irritating, lack of alternative seems to be an issue. Once we have an alternative to adobe then they will start realizing the issues they have been making wach time they update. Such an irritating expereince working with Adobe offlate. Instead of coming out with AI features, they should first solve these common issues which make a difference.

Bumping - this just started happening and it is making using forms and sending them out impossible. I don't have the "New Acrobat" option and the switching to Pan doesn't fix the probelm

changing from pan back to select tool as suggested no longer works for me, disabliing new acrobat works but its annoying as im used to new acrobat and like it more that the old one.
i tried to Uncheck "Always display the keyboard seletion cursor" to make tab work properly but it wasnt checked so that didnt fix anything. Is there no way to use tab on New Acrobat at all...this is crazy!
