TAKING TO LONG TO OPEN PDF DRAWING PRINTS

New Here ,
Oct 03, 2024 Oct 03, 2024

SINCE THE 2024.003.20112 UPDATE THE READER IS TAKING OVER SEVEN MINUTES TO OPEN PDF DRAWING FILES, THIS IS WAY WAY TO LONG .    I REGULARLY PRINT PDF COPIES AND ONLY NEED TO VIEW AND ZOOM AROUND TO CHECK & VERIFY THE PRINT IS OK.  7 MINUTES SPENT TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT IS A COMPLETE & UTTER WASTE OFF TIME.  BEST SUGGESTION UNTIL THIS FIXED, IS TOO SWITCH TO ANOTHER FREE PDF READER (PDFgear) AND EVEN OUR IT PEOPLE AGREE.

Hi larry_1100!

I hope you're doing well. Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear about your trouble with the Acrobat Reader app.

Is the issue occurring with all PDFs or just a specific type? If it's specific to one PDF, try with other PDFs.

Please ensure you have the latest version of the app installed, which is 24.003.20180. Planned update, Oct 03, 2024. Check for the pending updates from the Help menu by selecting Check for Updates, then install them and restart the app and your machine.

Once you are on the latest version, try opening the PDFs and let us know if the app still takes much time to open.

Also, for testing purposes only, disable the Protected View from the app's preferences > File > Preferences > Security(Enhanced)> Turn off Protected View, click OK, restart the app, and, if possible, the machine.
Note: Enable the security settings after the test.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Anand Sri.
