The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005) - keeps popping up when opening a pdf. How can I stop this?

I am on a Windows 7 Pro 64bit computer and have just upgraded to the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  When I open a PDF a window pops up telling me "The application was unable to start (0xc0000005).  Click OK to close this application"  I click OK and the window pops up again about three or four times before it finally stops.  My PDF document is then visible.  This is driving me mad!  I have tried using "Repair Installation" on the Help Menu but it has no effect.  I have downloaded and installed the latest Update - and this wretched message keeps popping up!  Before I do a system restore to go back to the earlier version , can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?  Many thanks.

Hi ,

There might be chance of previous version left overs. Try uninstalling Acrobat again using cleaner Tool : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then try reinstalling it and then see if that fixes the issue.

Dear Sukrit Dhingra

Thank you for your speedy reply to my problem. I downloaded and ran the Acrobat Cleaner Tool as you advised and this has cured my problem completely. Thank you again for restoring my sanity!

I clicked on the link to mark the answer as Correct but the page presented no opportunity to do so. Clicking on the Action button at the bottom of the page it said No action available. I'll try again at a later time but, in the meantime, I hope this message reaches you because I would hate for your accurate solution to my problem to go unrecognized.

Thanks again for your help.

I tried this cleanup fix and it did not work. Is there a more up to date answer/fix? I am blown out of the water not being about to open any pdf files now. Please help.
