Seems like a simple thing to do, but when I download and run the install it says it found a newer version and aborts the install. I recently had to remove Adobe because it wasnt opening files, now I just want to reinstall and its not allowing me to do this. Any thoughts? I am perplexed as to why I cannot simply call someone at Adobe to ask this question instead of being forced to use the online community...Kristen
Hi kristig,
Sorry for the delay in response.
It has been observed the issue is happening on windows machines primarily due to C++ runtimes are not updated. Try the suggestions from this discussion Newer version already installed and let us know if that help.

There’s no phone support for Adobe’s free software. They wouldn’t stay in business long if they did that...
Sadly a lot of people get this but I’ve seen no solution.
