Unable to use Acrobat Reader as prompt to upgrade!

New Here ,
Sep 05, 2022 Sep 05, 2022

I have been using Acrobat Reader, every time I open a PDF a Adobe pop message appears asking me to upgrade or try Acrobat DC. When I close this pop up box Acrobat Reader closes and I am unable to read or save the PDF. I went to re-install the latest version but it appears I already have the latest version.

Any suggestions as I am unable to read PDFs at all!!!

Hi @Caroline25964732deu5,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble.

Please run the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html, reboot the computer once, and install the application using the direct linkAdobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Download | Free PDF viewer for Windows, Mac OS, Android and see if that works for you.

Let me know if this helps.

Is this fix still valid with the most current version of Reader? Windows 10 - 11 â€¢ English â€¢ Version 25.001.20467

Hi @Mikaela22965827e764,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

The link is pretty much valid, and you can download the latest version of Acrobat Reader from there.

Do let us know if it doesn't and we can troubleshoot further.

Regards,
Souvik.
