Updating Adobe Reader software on Windows Vista

New Here ,
Sep 09, 2018 Sep 09, 2018

Is this possible?  I am trying to download a document from a Canadian Government website, but the document does not display, and instead I receive a message directing me to upgrade my Adobe Reader software.

I have tried downloading new Adobe Reader software, but there does not appear to be a version available for my Windows Vista software (which I am still running).

Any ideas?

You can use an old version of Reader. The message is misleading. Just download to your desktop then open in Reader with the File menu.

Warning: old versions of Reader have unfixed security bugs. Only download PDF files from highly trusted sites.

LATEST

Acrobat Reader DC does not support Windows Vista. The last Adobe Reader installer that officially supported Vista was 10.1.4, and the last installer that unofficially worked on Vista (because it officially supported Windows Server 2008, which was a server version of Vista) was 11.0.10 (which could be patched as high as 11.0.23 on Vista). Those installers can still be found on Adobe's ftp server.
