Downloaded and installed acrobat reader. All pdf files open just fine, but when closing the file, I get an error message "acrobat reader has stopped working".
Rebooted computer but still get error every time closing a pdf file. All features apper to work, as I can open and view the document, save it, print it, etc. Only problem is annoying error popup every time closing the document.
Uninstalled and re-downloaded/re-installed acrobat reader - rebooted computer - same issue.
Any suggestions how to fix this?
After poking around, I discovered an option "Disable New Reader". Once I selected that and re-opened a document, I noticed a change in the display, and suddenly I can now close documents without getting the error every time.
It appears that the "new" reader (AI assistant?) feature was causing this problem.

Hi Rod37087069iot6,
Thank you for reaching out and reporting this.
The team is working on this. However, to investigate further, the team requires the logs to find the root cause. Please share the logs using the steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

I closed the option "Disable New Reader" and then adobe had to restart and then when I close it again I still get the popup to close the program after I have already closed it.
