Question

How do I open a new document?

Hi there.

When I open Adobe and then click on the PLUS down on the right, I'm only given the options to open a document that already exists, not to get a blank page where I can start writing a brand new document. I'm trying to attach the screenshots here but no matter how often I click on the pic to attach them, it doesn't open up. What am I doing wrong or missing, please? How does it work please? Thanks in advance. Oh, it looks like I managed to attach the screenshots!

By "Adobe", do you mean "Adobe Acrobat Reader for Mobile" where this is posted?

You cannot create a new file in Acrobat Reader for mobile or desktop. You need Acrobat DC Pro (desktop) to do that.

    Hi Jane, thanks for worrying.

Yeah, by now I got it --I need either a desktop or can I perhaps edit on the phone with some app and then save it as a PDF with Adobe Premium, which is the subscription I have?

    @Tocino255984745b4g Hi,

Adding to the information above, the option to create a PDF is to convert a file from one format to a PDF.

The ability to create a PDF from scratch is available only with the desktop version of the application. You can also create a PDF from any image or data file that has most of the page blank and then add in your text as per your requirement.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Souvik.

@S. S,  your post prompted me to again search for a way to create a pdf from scratch.

imo, the logical way would be to open acrobat pro > click file > click create, but that fails showing no option to create a pdf from scratch,

but googling "acrobat create pdf" led me to, How to create a PDF in 4 easy steps | Adobe Acrobat

    which showed

    How to create PDF files:

    1. Open Acrobat and choose “Tools” > “Create PDF”.
    2. Select the file type you want to create a PDF from: single file, multiple files, scan, or other option.
    3. Click “Create” or “Next” depending on the file type.
    4. Follow the prompts to convert to PDF and save to your desired location.

Learn more about creating PDF files ›

which does work (if in step 2 you select page):

which negates something i stated above, "NOTE: when you click "create pdf", you have to select something that already exists (just like acrobat pro)."

but (imo) reinforces something else,  "a lot of things about acrobat are counter-intuitive and unnecessarily difficult."

p.s. it doesn't seem very difficult to add "blank page" to that files>create submenu.

Acrobat for mobile is a PDF viewer for your mobile device.

For best results use your favorite desktop publisher, MS Word, Google Docs or Adobe InDesign, to create documents and then export to PDF with Acrobat Pro.

    Hi Nancy, thanks for worrying.

Unfortunately I have only a mobile phone so I'll try to follow your advice and find some editor for the mobile that allows me to do what you are explaining there.

    Thanks!

this looks like a mobile app.

    1. do you have a paid subscription?

    2. what is the app's exact name?

there is no adobe premium subscription.

do you mean you have an adobe premiere pro subscription?

and again, what mobile app (exact name) are you trying to use?
