How to get Acrobat reader standalone version on Samsung Tab 1?

New Here ,
May 11, 2025 May 11, 2025

I've downloaded Acrobat fine to the tablet, but it always asks for Samsung or Google login. Doesn't seem to work offline. I need it for plane rides to read pdfs offline. This seems to simple and yet I've spent hours trying to download a simplel acrobat to read.. Works fine on my laptop, but that is a mac, and can't get Windows reader standalone on tablet...What am I missing?

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

It sounds like you’ve successfully installed the Adobe Acrobat Reader app on your tablet, but you're being prompted to sign in via Samsung or Google and are concerned about offline access.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile works offline, and you do not need to stay signed in to view PDFs that are saved locally on your device. However, an initial sign-in is required once during setup to activate the app. On Android tablets, this may go through Samsung or Google depending on your device setup.

Once you're signed in, you can open any PDF stored locally without internet access. You don’t need to keep logging in.

If your PDFs are saved in Google Drive, OneDrive, or Adobe Cloud, they won’t be accessible offline unless downloaded.

If it's asking to sign in through Samsung/Google Play Services, you can use your Adobe ID instead. Just choose the option to sign in with your email registered with Adobe and enter your Adobe credentials (or create a free one).

Also, please check the self-help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/mobile-app-faq.html for future reference.

Hope this information will help.
