Problems with Adobe Acrobat in Gmail and PDF Viewing

New Here ,
May 26, 2025 May 26, 2025

Hi all,

I have a One plus pad 2 and I love the auto split view feature.

I use the official Gmail app for Pad 2 and when I click on any PDF, the window splits: Gmail stays on the left and Acrobat Reader opens the PDF file on the right half of the screen. It used to be great and still works with images (jpg, etc.), but it stopped working a few weeks ago.

Now when I preview a PDF, the right half of the screen is completely white, no preview at all.

Also, if I open the PDF from Archive, sometimes it doesn't even open.

My only option is to download the PDF from Gmail every time and open it with Acrobat. It's a real pain, and it takes away the convenience of before.

I've tried uninstalling Acrobat, reinstalling it, but nothing, it still doesn't work...

Has anyone with the same problem found a solution?

Any help would be great!

Thanks a lot!

@Exciting_Dolphin2250

This is likely due to a setting within the Acrobat extension itself that's configured to open PDFs in Chrome. To fix this, you need to adjust the Adobe Acrobat extension's settings. Click the puzzle piece icon in your Chrome toolbar:

Then find the Adobe Acrobat extension and click the three dots next to it.

Have a look at your Preferences:

HI @Exciting_Dolphin2250,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat on your OnePlus tablet.

We would like to understand more about this for further investigation:

1. Did the issue start after any update of either the device OS or Acrobat?

2. The OS version of the tablet that you are using;

3. The version of Acrobat you have installed (go to Home > Profile > About Acrobat);

4. A screen recording of what you see for better understanding.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Meanwhile, please check that both Acrobat and Gmail are updated to their latest versions available on the Play Store for the best experience.

Regards,
Souvik.

So the system version is android 15, unfortunately I have set the automatic update of the apps and therefore I am not with which version it started to go bad.

Hoover, the problem came up a few weeks ago.

I attach the video where you can see that the split of the second screen is white
