We have a solution that requires Reader to be in FIPS mode.  The newest version Reader DC is not compatible.  What are the steps to put Reader DC in FIPS mode?

    Hey pamelabryantdowney,

Could you please let me know what version of OS are you using.

For Windows, you can enable FIPS mode for Acrobat Reader DC by creating a new DWORD Value called bFIPSMode in the registry key:

Open the registry (by typing REGEDIT in the Run window) and go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Adobe/Adobe Acrobat/8.0/AVGeneral" and set DWORD value equal to 1 to enable FIPS mode.

Let me know if this helps.

    Regards,

    Anubha

I don't think Acrobat DC preferences are stored under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Adobe/Adobe Acrobat/8.0

    Hey pwillener,

Oh yes. My mistake I gave the registry path for Acrobat/Reader 8.0

It might be checked for Reader DC under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Adobe/Acrobat Reader/DC/AVGeneral" if FIPS can be enabled by setting the DWORD value to 1.
