Suddenly unable to print mixed page sizes

New Here ,
Feb 10, 2021 Feb 10, 2021

I frequently print documents which have a mix of letter and legal size. Therefore I always use the "Choose paper source by PDF size" setting. Today, after a Windows 10 update, this no longer works. The setting is checked but it is not printing mixed sizes. Any idea how to resolve?

Hi Ted

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, after the recent update you are unable to print the mixed page size.

Please refer to the steps provided in a similar discussion here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/quot-choose-paper-source-by-pdf-page-size-quot-not-wor... and see if that helps.

Regards

Amal

Hi Meenaskhi,

I updated to the latest version as you mentioned above, but I am still experiencing this issue (Windows 10 64-bit).  When I click to check for updates, is says "No updates available" - Installed: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (21.001.20142).

Are there any other suggestions for resolving this issue?

Thank you,

Keith

I have a problem, we have a preset printer that prints on recycled paper in landscape, black and white, 2 pages per sheet and double-sided, and flips on the short side. but when I print, the paper order is 2-1, 4-3, 6-5, 8-7. I want it to be 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, etc. other programs have no problem, Edge, Chrome.
or where should I report an error?

Hello Jan!

I hope you are doing well.

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.2043x Optional update, Mar 19, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/4huxi5b

Try the following steps and let us know how it goes:

Adjust the Print Settings in Acrobat Reader

  • Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • In the Print Dialog Box, ensure the following settings are selected:
    • Print on both sides of the paper → Set to Flip on Short Edge (if applicable).
    • Multiple Pages per Sheet → Set to 2.
    • Page Order → Change to "Horizontal" or "Reverse", depending on how your printer processes double-sided prints.

2. Try Printing with a Different Layout Option

If the issue persists:

  • Manually reorder pages before printing by using the "Organize Pages" feature (available in Acrobat Pro).
  • Test using "Print as Image" (found under Advanced Print Settings) to see if it affects the page order.

Also, ensure that you have the latest printer driver and firmware installed. You can also check this article and try the suggestions: https://adobe.ly/4iJ0PsT

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
