Have Acrobat 11.0.14 and Reader 11.0.14 installed on Windows 7 64bit (with all updates as of today), and Reader works. When you launch Acrobat (as either a normal user or with admin rights) it cycles constantly - the cursor flashes, changes to the spinning cursor, goes back, you lose the ability to control anything every few seconds, and if you open taskmanager, you see acrobat.exe appear for a second and then go away, and it does this until you either reboot or are quick enough to catch it and cancel. Distiller does the same thing. I've used the cleaner to remove it and reader and reinstall, this did not help. This system also has AutoCAD 2016 installed if that matters, but I have other workstations with the same windows 7 image and autocad and this install of acrobat works with no issue. I don't see any errors and nothing in the event logs that help.

Hi waynel97034316,
Please check whether is there any update available for the software after going through "help > check for updates "
Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.
Is this happening while launching all the files.
Please check with the different user account to replicate the issue referring to this KB article :- Adobe troubleshooting: Using or creating an admin account in Windows 7, 8, Vista
Regards,
Yatharth

I can't do the "help> check for updates" because it never actually brings up the interface. It constantly cycles (as I mentioned, you can open task manager and see acrobat.exe start and stop, over and over). It's 11.0.14 (also tried 11.0.10 and .11 just to see if it was the version). It happens for any user on that workstation (with and without admin rights). Adobe Reader works, it's just a problem with Acrobat (pro) and distiller.
I'll try your suggestion of resetting the preferences.
