Acrobat DC is not preserving margins of document when converting from Word

The PDFs I create from Microsoft Word docs have increased margins which changes the layout of the type and increases length of document.

This happens whether I start from Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and create a PDF there, or if I start in Word and use "save as PDF" or print to PDF.

Any ideas?
