Hey,

I am getting "Acrobat could not compare the document completely. Do you want to see the report anyway?" error.

Before it was working fine but after upgrading to windows 10 it stopped working.

Operating system: Windows 10 Pro

Acrobat version: Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.17)

Under File->Properties->Description->Advanced->PDF Producer it says "Python PDF library - http://pybrary.net/pyPdf/

After selecting first document it will automatically select "Presentation decks, drawings or illustrations" but it should stay on "Reports, spreadsheets, magazine layouts".

I have tried reinstalling Adobe Acrobat DC Pro but it didn't help.

It works if i open pdf with word and save it as pdf but our client doesn't want to make those steps, because it worked before.

I have the same issue. To make the comparison function work, you have to save the files as an “Adobe PDF Files, Optimized (*.pdf)” format before you do the comparison. See screenshot below. I hope this works for you.

Hello,

Can you share the input files with us so that we can look into the issue?

As try67 says, most of those commenting on the Adobe forums are volunteers, though Adobe staff occasionally look in. Over the years, their responses regarding problems with Acrobat Pro's "Compare Documents" feature have often amounted to "Read the f[ascinat]ing manual."

This may have begun to change in June: Varinder.Sainbeg responded to threads in 3 Acrobat sub-forums, Creating PDFs, Editing & Exporting PDFs, and Commenting & Collaboration.  In the first two he writes: "I am sorry to hear that you are facing issues with compare feature. We are aware of the issues and are working to fix them. I will contact you offline to discuss this in detail"; the third repeats the interest in discussion offline.  I guess it's nice to know Adobe recognizes serious issues, but going off-line leaves the rest of us in the dark.  So I plan to continue doing my comparisons in Acrobat 9 Pro -- I can't get the feature to work in Acrobat X Pro.

Hi David,

As you mentioned in your post, we are definitely aware of the issues in compare and are actively working to fix it in our future release. We reached out to the users on forums (as you noticed) and got lot of feedback from them. In past couple of months, we have already addressed lot of issues and feedback that we heard from them. If you want to play with the early build and provide more feedback, please join our pre-release program. If you are interested please let me know and I will contact you to get you registered in our pre-release program.

Thanks

Varinder

Thanks for replying,

I would be pleased if you could provide this pre-release program.

We need to get this working as soon as possible.

Is it possible to get older version of this program if I have license for version 11.0?

Thanks,

Henri

This is not Adobe Technical Support or Customer Service. The people who reply here are mostly volunteers and do so in their own free time. If you have a problem with that contact Adobe directly and get your credit-card ready.
