Adobe Creative Suite Design & Web Premium CS6 for Mac - not working after Mac reformat

I've tried contacting Adobe Support via chat, but getting differing and vague answers. Trying again here in the forums:

Running Mac OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan

Took the plunge nearly a year ago, and subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud, with the understanding that CS6 would still work fine, alongside.

After my logic board failed, had to reinstall everything. I had the opportunity to deactivate CS6, so okay there. Upon trying to reinstall CS6, InDesign and Photoshop have Error: 1

Configuration Error

Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.
Error: 1

Upon contacting support via chat, they said they could no longer help me, as they had dropped support for CS6. Seems a bit awful, seeing as it's about installation. Also, reported my serial number no longer working when attempting a re-instal. Again, we don't support CS6.

On top of this, they informed my license of Adobe Acrobat 9.0 for Mac was now useless. Suggested I use Acrobat within Creative Cloud.

I'll leave it there for now, see iff anyone has any ideas. Would rather hear from an Adobe representative. That is, of course, if they consider CS6 to be o0ut of support now. I figure this to be an installation and license issue. I don't need support for the software. I need Adobe to back me up, after assuring me I would have no problem using CS6 alongside CC.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused .

Acrobat 9 is not compatible with the Mac version on your system.

You can find the details here : Adobe Acrobat system requirements

Interesting. Just managed to re-instal Acrobat 9 Pro on El Capitan. Working fine.

Also you can refer to this link and follow the troubleshooting steps provided in order to resolve the issue you facing while installing CS6 : Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Creative Suite

"Failed to install" error received when installing Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app

I also tried my installation again. This time, serial number accepted, and re-instal of InDesign and Photoshop CS6 all fine now. Didn't need to use your suggested fixes, just went ahead and installed. Maybe something server-side at Adobe has been fixed since I last tried? Anyway, thanks for listening
