Can't combine image files (jpeg or tiff) into a PDF binder

I've done it plenty of times before, but today I went through the usual process for combining files and wound up with gray rectangles where the images are supposed to be. The images show up in preview, but not when I actually open the binder. I checked for Acrobat updates, but the app is up to date. Any ideas?

Go to Edit - Preferences - Page Display and make sure that "Show large images" is ticked.

Yo Try67-that did it. Thank you for the answer. I use Acrobat only on occasion, and I've never really studied it. I can see that it might be a good idea to do that. Thanks.
