Do I have an illegal download?

I have a related problem.  I purchase AA Pro XI via an online download.  I was never prompted to register and I cannot locate a registration license number.  Do I have an illegal download?

if you downloaded from adobe.com or prodesigntools.com the download is ok.

but i'm not sure how that helps you.  you need your serial number.

Where in the program do I find the serial number?

The software does not show you the serial number. If you were not given one, and it is not a subscription, this seems wrong.

It's not possible to say, but this is suspicious. It is how some pirate software looks. 

If you JUST paid for it, this is even more suspicious, as Acrobat XI is finished - discontinued. Adobe are not supplying it, so where would the seller get stock if it was valid...?
