Expandable Text Boxes

Hello,

I am trying to create a PDF Form that has expandable text boxes.

I would like for users to be able to type in a text box that would expand as the user types and once they are done typing the text box would then revert back to its original size but if you would click on it again it would show all the text that was previously typed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Not sure what your using but..  If your in a .PDF, try searching "Add text comment" in the search box.  Toolbar comes up and it's this icon (see attached)

I'm trying to do this too! I see that it's not possible in Acrobat. Were you able to get this to work in LiveCycle? I don't have that program, but we may need to invest in it if that's truly the only way to make this work. I'd love to know how this ended up for you.

Also, is it truly a PDF that others can open and type in even if they don't have LiveCycle?

Thanks!

Yes, but only if they use Adobe software (ie, Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader) and not on a mobile device.

Great! Thank you so much. I'll have to dig a little further into what, exactly, LiveCycle is to see if it's worth investing in. So far we just need our staff to complete 1 form like this per year. I can't really justify spending $300/year to be able to edit 1 form, once a year.

Thanks for your help!

Yes. It's possible in Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
