Fillable form box only accepts 1/3 as much text as it should

I have a pdf fillable form with large boxes that should be able to hold a paragraph or two of text. When I try to copy/paste text in, I can only fill the form about 1/3 of the way. How do I copy/paste a full answer that fills in the entire fillable form field?

Can you enter more text if you do it manually, instead of pasting it in?

If not then there's most likely a limit to the number of characters you can enter into the field, applied by the form's author.

Is there a way to check if that is the case? Somewhere it might say "character limit xx"?

It's just weird they'd format the document with such a large box if they required a character limit only 33% the size of the box.
