How do I rearrange pages in a PDF Portfolio file

Acrobat is forcing me to combine 2 PDF documents as a PDF Portfolio File.  OK, got that done, but I need to rearrange the pages and i can't drag and drop.  What am I doing wrong?\

OMG - thanks so much.

I'm looking at using portfolios to appease customers who want to be able to rearrange the sections in our release notes.

Solution: Save each 'section' as a separate PDF and bundle them all in a portfolio. Customers can reorganize the sections to their heart's delight.

Bonus: The many illustrations and tables no longer need to be formatted to fit a document (section break/landscape/etc).

If DC has broken the ability to rearrange files in a portfolio, it definitely is not for me.

If you are using Versions 11 or earlier arranging files in a portfolio is a simple case of drag and drop. For reasons which only an software engineer would know the process in DC is ridiculously complicated. In DC go to View/portfolio/details. You will then see a list of your documents. Right click and select document portfolios. You will then see a list with check boxes (Name, Display name etc). Create a "new field (select add) and name it what you like but put it at the top of the list. Then check that field and unchecked all the others. Then select sort by the name of your new field. Once that it done highlight a pdf and right click on the document that you want to appear as the first page in your portfolio. Select "edit value" and on the right you should be able to see the name of the new field you created. Select it and number it "1". Select the PDF you want next and number it "1.1" and so on. Be careful with the numbers if you go over "10" it seems to get jumbled. There may be another way but this does work. To be honest I keep a 10X version to order our portfolios.

    Hello. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 and need to rearrange the files in a portfolio. Each pdf is named Chapter 1***, Chapter 2***. etc. I highlighted the file that was out of sequence, right-clicked and chose sort by name. It seems to be sorted correctly on my screen; however, when I save the portfolio and re-open it, the same ordering error appears again. I tried to save the correctly sorted portfolio with a new name, but upon opening it, the original ordering error was saved. Am I overlooking a step in thuis process? I also approached this by going to View and following these steps there. Why will my changes not save?

    Good Afternoon,

    On the left hand side of the application where the preview of the documents are, right click and select "Portfolio Properties". Down at the bottom you should see "Sort by:" and a drop down. Select "Name" and then click "OK". Save the portfolio and then open it up again to verify that it worked. Let me know if you have any issues.
