How to stop Acrobat from enlarging file size upon save?

Hi,

Example: I have 2 pages 68kb large pdf document. I need to add few form fields into it. After doing so, when I save the document, its size is over 1,2Mb. When I use Save As... with Reduced File Size option, I get below 500kb.

What is going on? Why it has to be so large? Can I reduce its size further more? I need it to be really small as it is the document with high download frequency.

Please help

Correct answer Test Screen Name

Oh, and the file gets bigger with forms because of fonts. Stick the the font names above the line (Helvetica, Times, Courier) to keep the size down. Don't use similar fonts like Arial or TimesNewRoman or Courier new, it must be those exact fonts.

This is supposed to happen. Each time you use SAVE, it adds to the file a note on what has been added, changed and deleted. This is to allow very large files (gigabytes even) to be saved quickly. When you have finished your edits, use SAVE AS and it will rearrange so you have only the things left in the file.

Thank you for your advice TSN, I presume this might be The Font Issue. I will do some tests tomorrow about this, and we see.
