Please provide any insights to the following question. In trying to sign and date a w-9 I get the following message. "This form cannot be edited in Adobe Acrobat DC. Please use Adobe Lifecycle Designer." How do I get this document dated and signed without buying Lifecycle Designer?
Thanks,
Rick
Assuming you're dealing with a fillable PDF provided by the IRS, you won't be able to e-sign. but you can fill-in the fields using Adobe Reader or Acrobat. The version of the W-9 form I have does not include a date field, but you can use the Add Text commenting tool to add a date. You can also either digitally sign or use the Pencil commenting tool to draw a signature.

add text did not work for me, I cut and pasted text from a text document for the date, and cut and pasted my signature from a open document

No, you can't add text without LifeCycle Designer (I pay enough for two copies of CC, thanks much.) This is so infuriating.

No, you can't, I tried, too. I agree, it's ridiculous.

Print the form. Sign it in ink. Done.

but what if you don't have a printer and scanner to produce an email-able W-9? Ridiculous and infuriating.

Complain to the creator of the form. They set it up specifically to work this way. They had choices.
