Tried to download and install Adobe Acrobat DC and getting this error:  Third party payload Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code 1603 and installation errors DW0071 and DW003. Help!

Correct answer ITGURU7326

I found the problem.  I had previously had Adobe Acrobat XI installed and while I had already uninstalled it a while back, the folder was still under: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe, so there were 2 Acrobat folders in the Adobe programs folder, and I guess they were conflicting, I got the payload error and the 3010 error and I could not install via creative cloud or by direct download because the 'install' always stopped with various error codes.  Once I deleted the Adobe 11 folder under: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe, I tried installing again and it worked PERFECTLY!  Such a simple solution after a frustrating hour of trying to figure it out!

Hi Meghank55823325,

Please follow the below Steps:

  • Copy the AcroPro.msi file and Data1.cab from C:\Users\<myusername>\AppData\Local\Temp\{5BBB28F0-682F-4D85-899E-EE5B60B86A7F - *****}\Acrobat_1 1_0_0_CCM_MUI\Adobe CS7
  • Copy to C:\windows\installer ( This is a hidden you can open this location from "Run" )
  • Run installation from the Installer folder not from the Temp folder

**** Temp\{5BBB28F0-682F-4D85-899E-EE5B60B86A7F} - this is just an example in temp folder you'll see multiple folders with alpha number combination like this, arrange them according to date modified and then open the latest ones. You should be able to locate the Acrobat file there.
