Acrobat X 10.1.16

I want to make the page Thumbnails in the left Navigation Pane to show as default.

I open them and then do the File->Exit but when I come back they are not showing.

Also I want the Fit to Window to be default too. Same problem as above.

Help appreciated.

Hugh

You can't set it as a default for all files, only on a file-by-file basis.

Hugh,

Open the PDF in question.

Navigate to File | Document Properties.

Tumb nails and window fitting are under the 'Initial View' tab.

Make the desired changes.

Now resave it.

Word of warning - do NOT hide the 'menu bar', 'tool bars','window controls', nor open in 'full screen'.  Doing so is considered poor PDF etiquette unless you put instructions on how to get those back / disabled, etc. on your opening page.

Hope this helps.

Doug, thanks for your reply. I did what you suggested and unfortunately it will work only for the file that I used. But it will not set it for all pdf files. That is, I want to have the Navigation Pane with Pages open for every file/default setting.

Again: Acrobat X 10.1.16 in WIndows 10 Pro
