Question

Is there a command-line utility to determine if a PDF document has been digitally signed?

For the purposes of setting up a simple PDF workflow in Windows (move documents out of a folder once they are signed) I am looking for a command-line utility that can tell if a PDF document has been signed.

‌Looks like you are looking for something on a server?

Hello Test Screen Name,

I am sure what you mean by "looking for for something on a server".

I just wanted to know if there is a way  - without running Acrobat - of knowing if a PDF document has been digitally signed (specifically, if all digital signature fields have been signed). If can know that, then I can implement a simple workflow (using a program or command file) that examines a file, determines if it is fully signed, and if it is, archives it to some other place.

‌I asked whether you want to run in a server, because an entirely different class of software is needed for this environment. The difference is partly technical (eg must not pop up errors, may need to multitask) but also licensing, as many solutions are licensed only per end user.

You can use Actions but they run inside Acrobat/Reader.

Adobe doesn't have such a command-line utility.

Too bad. Thanks, anyhow.
