After Changing Paper Size - Duplex Flip Is Ignored

I have an ongoing issue with printing PDFs 2-sided in Acrobat. All of my printing is 2-sided and I use the flip Long/Short depending on if it's a portrait letter, or a landscape postcard.

Most of the time, I print to 8.5 x 11 paper. Somtimes, I have to switch to 11 x 17. So I use the standard Properties button in the print dialogue in Acrobat to change the paper size to 11 x 17, I print, and our color printer prints out an 11 x 17 page. .Great! But after printing at 11 x 17, I will then switch back to 8.5 x 11 and this is when the issue happens. Acrobat ignores my setting for flipping Long/Short edge on 2-sided print options . Example, if I have an 8.5 x 11 letter that is portrait, I would want to flip on the long edge. It flips on the short edge, so the back is upside down. The page size is correct, I've set it to 8.5 x 11 and the printer prints to the 8.5 x 11 paper. That's all working. It just ignores the flip setting, long/short.

Tried everything I can think of so I'm hoping someone else had this issue and knows of a fix.
