Question

Square tool in comment tool bar disappears when moused over

I do IT, and currently I have a user that's having an issue with (very specifically) the square tool in the comment toolbar in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

When he mouses over the square, it disappears from the toolbar and leaves an empty space, now he can still click on it, but when he tries to actually create a square on the document, his cursor turns invisible and the square he goes to create... well, never gets created.

Now, the only reason I'm here, is because the issue seems to have followed his profile to a second computer, and I've compared all of his settings to my profile which doesn't seem to be having the issue.

Do we know if there are any windows settings, drivers, software, etc. that might be conflicting with adobe and causing the issue? Is it possible it could be occuring within the adobe profile?

Just curious if anyone has any ideas before I go about rebuilding windows profiles.

Hi Bailey

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. A described the square box from the comment tool bar is missing/invisible and the user is unable to draw the square shape using it.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC the user is using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure he is using the latest version 20.13.20074 Go to Help > Check for Updates.

You may also try to repair the installation from the help menu (For Widows OS only) Go to Help > Repair Installation.

If it still doesn't work, please try to reset the Acrobat preferences to default as descried in the help page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.

If it still doesn't work, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights on Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check .

Regards

Amal

Hi Bailey,

Could you please let us know if you are still facing the issue? Actually, we cannot recreate the problem at our end.

Kindly sign-out and then sign-in again into Acrobat and check if the still persists.

Arvind
