Where are my acrobat.com files saved in PDF form saved to? On my computer hard drive or the Acrobat server? In case my computer crashes, can I always retreive my files?

Where are acrobat.com files saved to when I save them in .pdf format on acrobat.com?   In case my computer crashes, can I always retrieve them from the server?

    Hi shaeranne,

When you convert files using ExportPDF or Adobe PDF Pack, your files are automatically saved to your online account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. And yes, in the event of a computer crash, your files will be safe in your account!

Thanks for your answer.  Much appreciated!  So I'm safe then?  Say 10 years down the line and I purchased a "new" computer I can always know that if I need to retrieve a file it's going to be there on their server?  Now, I'm on the free version for Acrobat.com -- does that matter?

Ten years down the road is a long time! Things could certainly change by then, but if they were to change you can be assured that Adobe would let you know and give you a chance to move your files. But yes, your files will remain tucked away in your online account until you move them, and you can access them from any device. (For what it's worth, I typically like to have backups of important files, so you may want to keep a second copy of anything important--not saying that your files aren't safe where they are--I just feel better knowing there's a backup somewhere!)

I think our posts just got crossed! :-) Your files are saved to your online Acrobat.com account.

So really the big question is this alleviates the big fees from Carbonite and those other cloud companies monthly fees to store your files safely?

    Thanks so much, Sera.
